THE WASHINGTON COAST JULY 4

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY

Heading for the Gray's Harbor area on the
central Washington coast.
The point out there is the village of Tokeland
 Tokeland Harbor
everyone in town was at the parade
traffic held up for hours
One road in, one road out!

 Cape Shoalwater
Boats out there in the surf
Too rough for us.
 Westport State Park

 Westport (Grays Harbor) Light
Tallest lighthouse in Washington, third tallest
on the West Coast
circa 1898
 Wild flowers abound

Trying to get to Ocean Shores right on the tip
of the peninsula; however, traffic was backed up .
The tide had come in and the only road was flooded....
No entry until low tide at midnight...Geesh
Cars and campers stranded on the beach!
On the way back, traffic was backed up for
at least 18 miles, lucky for us it was the westbound lane
