It was a busy day today, Painted Desert, Petrified
Forest, driving to Flagstaff, finding a campsite,
touring Sunset Crater, and Wupatki Ruins.
Painted Desert
Painted Desert Inn
The original building built in the 1920's was
made of petrified wood, today's adobe facade
dates back to the 1930's renovation by the CCC
workers. It is now a museum, showing how it
looked in the 1960's when it was purchased by
the Park Service.

Incredible
After spending most of the day at the
Petrified Forest, we went back to the state park
hitched up and headed for Flagstaff (much cooler there)
Look there's still snow on top of the mountain

were built on top of rocks and still standing

Didn't mind dry camping here at all!
